Week 9- Dear Future AP Psych Student...

You will definitely not regret taking this class. There are so many interesting topics that you will get to learn about. However, since it's so much material in one semester, you will definitely need to keep up and not procrastinate. Doing the vocab each week is very helpful, and it is better to do bit by bit of it each day. This will not only help you remember the vocab but it will also save you a lot of time. If you are following the plan that is given by Ms. Halfen, you will probably be able to understand the PowerPoint slides better on note days. To prepare for tests, it is very helpful to do the practice tests on schoology. If you do it a few days before the test, you will be able to know what topics you will need to go over more. It was very beneficial for me to get an AP psychology book, so I could use that to study for the tests and do the vocab.
My favorite activities are playing the quizlet live games, watching the videos, and making the brain out of candy. The bonus game activities are a lot of fun. They were helpful since it was a review before the test and you can gain extra bonus points for it. Mind maps are also another opportunity for bonus points on the test. I found the videos that we watched in class to be very interesting and it can help broaden your scope about ideas of psychology around you.
I think maybe we could've had a couple more practices on the FRQs during class instead of the content digs. If you are reading the AP book outside of school and doing enough searching online about the topics, the content digs might only need to contain the most important information. However, I'd say this decision would vary among students. Since students can prepare for the FRQ by looking at released ones at home, it probably just depends on which one they would like more time for. Since the FRQ is mostly just knowing vocab and applying it to graphs and situations, you are preparing for it while you are study for the multiple choice tests as well.
Overall, there are no benefits of slacking off in the class. It will only make you unprepared for the class and the AP. Even though a generous amount of time will have to be spent dedicated to this class, you will thoroughly enjoy learning about psychology. I'd have to say that this was one of my favorite classes I have taken.
Thanks everyone for a great semester!
